TAMPA — A dispute between neighbors in Town 'N Country turned deadly Thursday night, deputies said.
Deputies responded about 11 p.m. to a shooting call at a home at 6006 Southern Comfort Bvd., Hillsborough County sheriff’s Col. James Bradford said during a news conference at the scene. They arrived to find a man dead from at least one gunshot wound to the upper body.
Just before the shooting, residents at the address were doing some work on their home when a neighbor became agitated and began to argue with them in the front yard, Bradford said.
“One of the residents there tried to break up the fight and was also armed with a handgun, and detectives are still working through all the details, but he shot the neighbor that came into their yard,” Bradford said.
Bradford said investigators were conducting interviews with witnesses and people involved and processing the scene. The Sheriff’s Office has not released the names of anyone involved. No charges have been filed.
