Hillsborough County to require appointments for medical supply donations

Supplies to prevent the spread of COVID-19 are still needed, but donors must schedule drop-offs.

Persons wishing to donate medical supplies to Hillsborough County will be required to schedule an appointment in advance beginning June 30.

Previously, donors could bring supplies Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the old Sears Automotive Shop at 250 Westshore Plaza.

Starting June 30, donations will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays by appointment only.

The old Sears Automotive Shop will no longer be used as a donation center. Donors will be directed to a new location when they schedule an appointment.

Drop-offs can be scheduled in advance by calling (813) 221-6561.

The following items can be donated:

  • Impervious gowns
  • Face shields
  • Surgical masks
  • N95 masks
  • Tyvek suits
  • Exam gloves
  • Homemade masks, to be used by non-clinical staff and patients

Except for cloth masks, all supplies must be medical-grade and unused.

Donated supplies will be used in hospitals, nursing centers, assisted living facilities, and other local areas to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
