Man dies after pickup crashes nearly head-on into car and catches fire in Hillsborough

The crash happened early Saturday and left two other people seriously injured.

A man who has not been identified by officials died early Saturday morning after a nearly head-on crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol

The man was driving a pickup east on U.S. 92 near Parsons Avenue just after 2 a.m. when, for unknown reasons, he veered into the westbound lane and crashed nearly head-on with a car, according to the agency.

A 53-year-old Palm Harbor man and a 36-year-old Seffner woman were in the other car and both suffered serious injuries.

The unidentified man’s pickup overturned and caught fire, burning completely, according to the agency. The man’s age, name place of residence were unknown to the Highway Patrol Saturday.
