TAMPA — Five people were injured in a shooting in Tampa’s Palm River-Clair Mel neighborhood Monday night.
The shooting happened about 9 p.m. after a large group had gathered outside the convenience store at the Citgo station at 1225 S 78th St., according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. There was an argument and a suspect displayed a firearm and shot another person.
At least one person returned fire and four more people were shot, including the initial shooter, deputies said.
The victims were treated at local hospitals. Two were still in the hospital Tuesday morning. Detectives have spoken to the people involved have not made any arrests.
The Sheriff’s Office has not released the names of anyone involved.
