Maryland driver seriously hurt after hitting car in front of him on I-4

TAMPA — A 22-year-old Maryland man was seriously injured on Interstate 4 when he drove his car into the back of another vehicle and spun out, slamming into a concrete barrier, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Both vehicles were headed east near McIntosh Road when the crash occurred about 11:55 p.m. Wednesday.

The driver of the first car is from Waldorf, Md. He was speeding when he struck the car in front of him, driven by a 42-year-old Land O’ Lakes man. The Land O’ Lakes man received minor injuries in the collision. Both men were wearing seatbelts.
