THONOTOSASSA — A 36-year-old Orlando man died Wednesday when his pickup overturned on Interstate 4, troopers said.
The man was heading east on the interstate about 4:45 p.m. when he apparently lost control of his pickup near the McIntosh Road exit, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The man was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from pickup when it overturned, troopers said.
The man died from his injuries at the scene of the crash.
The Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of people involved in crashes because of its interpretation of Marsy’s Law, a voter-approved amendment to the state Constitution that was meant to protect crime victims but that deprives the public of information long available under Florida’s public records law. The agency withholds names even when there’s no suspicion of a crime.
