Hillsborough County residents have a chance to weigh in on redistricting county commission seats.
A series of open houses are scheduled next week, one in each of the four districts. The public also can participate virtually at HCFLGov.net/HCEngage.
The county must redraw political boundary lines for its four non-countywide commission seats every decade to reflect updated population data in the U.S. Census. There are currently three maps under consideration. The county commission is scheduled to vote Sept. 29 on which maps will be the topic of future public hearings and final commission votes.
The open houses begin each evening at 6 p.m. They are scheduled for Monday at Ruskin Branch Library; Tuesday at Jimmie B. Keel Regional Library; Wednesday at All Peoples Life Center and Friday at Bloomingdale Regional Library
Online public engagement begins Sunday Sept. 19 through Saturday, Sept. 25.
