SUV goes airborne, crashes into Riverview mobile home

Florida Highway Patrol troopers said the driver was seriously injured and two people in the home suffered minor injuries.

Three people were injured, one seriously, after a sport-utility vehicle crashed into a mobile home in Riverview early Friday morning.

The crash occurred about 3 a.m. as a 30-year-old woman from Wimauma was driving the SUV south on U.S. 301 approaching El Paso Drive, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

The driver lost control, crossed the center median and northbound lanes, became airborne, hit a concrete barrier wall and plowed into the mobile home in the 10700 block of Rice Creek Drive.

The driver was seriously injured. Two people inside the mobile home suffered minor injuries, troopers said.

No other details, including the names of the people involved, were released by the Highway Patrol.
