Hillsborough motorcyclist dead after collision, troopers say

A 63-year-old man from Plant City is dead after his motorcycle collided with a sedan in Hillsborough County on Monday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The motorcyclist was heading east on State Road 574 when he turned left into a gas station parking lot at the intersection of N Forbes Road around 12:15 p.m. and, according to troopers, “entered the path of, and was struck by” a westbound sedan driven by a 22-year-old Plant City woman.

The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital, where he later died. The Highway Patrol said he was not wearing a helmet.

The driver of the sedan had minor injuries, troopers said. She was wearing a seat belt.

The Highway Patrol did not identify either driver.
