The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking information after a 36-year-old Riverview man was killed in a Friday afternoon crash.
Troopers are looking for the driver of a black Dodge Ram 1500, according to a media release from the Florida Highway Patrol. The truck was last seen traveling westbound on Causeway Boulevard, from 78th Street in Hillsborough County, the release said.
A motorcyclist was traveling west on Causeway Boulevard at what troopers described as “a high rate of speed” when the agency said he tried to pass a pickup truck and struck the back of the vehicle around 2:39 p.m.
The motorcycle overturned just east of South 86th Street and the man was ejected, the release said. The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.
The truck driver fled the scene following the crash, troopers said.
