In preparation to open the Spurlino Family YMCA at Big Bend Road this winter, the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA will hold a hiring event to look for talented, energetic individuals who will commit to making a difference for children, adults, teens and seniors.
The event will run from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday (Nov. 4) on-site at Spurlino, 9650 Old Big Bend Road in Riverview.
Named after the lead donor, the Spurlino Family YMCA at Big Bend Road features 32,500 square feet of indoor space plus an outdoor aquatic center complete with a lap pool and family fun pool offering a zero-depth entry and fun play features. The new Y will offer a state-of-the-art wellness center complete with top-notch equipment, innovative fitness technology, an indoor cycling studio and two group exercise rooms offering popular fitness classes.
They will hold on the spot interviews and job offers will take place for more than 100 part-time positions. Job applicants must be ages 16 and over and can apply and interview for part-time positions in wellness, membership, aquatics, sports and childcare.
Programs include personal/group training, a diabetes prevention program, a cancer survivor program, active older adult programming and health education seminars.
The new Y will continue offering youth sports and summer camp, while adding on a Stay & Play for children while their parents work out, Parents’ Night Out, teen leadership programs, swim lessons, swim teams for all ages and family-friendly events.
