Sheriff's Office investigates homicide of woman in Plant City

PLANT CITY — A woman was found dead outside a mobile home early Monday. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has launched a homicide investigation.

Deputies were called to the 4800 block of Trapnell Road at about 1 a.m. Monday to investigate the discovery of a woman's body found outside a residence. There were signs the body had suffered upper body trauma, deputies said.

Deputies do not believe this was a random incident. No other information about the incident was released, and the name of the victim was withheld.
