Aspiring musicians all in for instruction

ST. PETERSBURG — The Florida Music Institute is holding an intensive six-day strings training workshop for children.

The institute, in its fourth year, is a nonprofit organization that provides music education and development to children and adults. Eighty students of all levels, ranging in age from 4 to 15, will study violin, viola, cello, bass and guitar. The class levels range from beginner to master.

Teacher training is also being offered in violin.

The workshop, which began Sunday, ends Friday.
