Brooksville's Uptown Block Party

 
Stanley Aikman, 61, of Brooksville admires a vintage 1969 Volkswagen Beetle during the city of Brooksville Uptown Block Party on Thursday. The VW was part of the event’s car show and owned by Scott Griffin, 30, of Brooksville, the director of marketing at Monster Transmission & Performance. At right, Jack Coltey, 69, of Masaryktown brings his dog Chiquita, a 1-year-old chihuahua, to the party, which takes place the last Thursday of each month in the City Hall and Suntrust parking lots. “We want to provide good entertainment in downtown Brooksville with live music, good food from our local restaurants and want people to get to know what downtown has to offer,” said Tiffany Taylor, recreation leader with Brooksville Parks & Recreation.
