Severe weather poster contest winner:  Maria Flavia Bustinza, who attends Chasco Elementary School, was named the 2016 Region 4 winner of the Florida Division of Emergency Management’s Kids Severe Weather Awareness Week poster contest. Her artwork was chosen for the top honor among schools from eight west-central Florida counties. The state Division of Emergency Management and the Pasco County Office of Emergency Management recognized Maria at a ceremony at her school April 27. Both Maria and her teacher won prizes for the winning poster. This is the 15th year of the contest, which is open to students in kindergarten through fifth grade.
