Hope, the burned dog, is released from the hospital

Hope the dog was released from BluePearl Veterinary Partners in Tampa on Tuesday. The Shar-Pei mix was severely burned March 20 in Arcadia and her former owner, Larry Wallace, 66, has been charged with one count of cruelty to animals and one count of arson. Though Hope has healed enough to no longer need 24-hour care, she will be going home with Hardee Animal Rescue's Leigh Sockalosky, left, so she can continue receiving medical attention. Bills have been covered by donations, at least $56,828, per Hardee's website, hardeeanimalrescueteam.weebly.com.
