Jan. 10 Mayoral Ball celebrates city leaders

Mayoral Ball is Friday at Mahaffey

The Junior League of St. Petersburg will present a nonpartisan Mayoral Ball honoring city leaders past and present beginning at 6 p.m. Friday in the Mahaffey Theater at the Duke Energy Center for the Arts, 400 First St. S. Proceeds will benefit the league's community projects and St. Pete's Promise, a city mentoring and scholarship program. The Wizard of Oz-themed event is black-tie optional. Philanthropist nominations due

The St. Anthony's Hospital Foundation is accepting nominations for the Helen D. Roberts Philanthropy Award, the Roy G. Harrell Jr. Leadership Award and the Hippocrates Award to be presented at its annual Legacy Dinner on Feb. 20. Visit stanthonysfoundation.org for details and nomination forms. Accepting grant applications

The Queen's Court is accepting applications from Pinellas charities to receive grants for the 2015 Queen of Hearts Ball, which honors outstanding female volunteers. Call (727) 894-7543. The deadline is March 1. The 56th annual event on Feb. 22 benefits the Abilities Foundation, Academy Prep Center of St. Petersburg and Daystar Life Center.
