St. Petersburg program opens doors to other faiths

Interfaith Week, described as a chance to see how the rest of the community practices religion and spirituality in a casual, open, educational setting, runs through Sunday.

Individuals and families are being encouraged to visit the churches, temples, mosques, synagogues, meditation centers and spiritual communities in St. Petersburg to better understand the people, values, beliefs, practices and cultures that make up the city.

This year's program includes free panel and roundtable discussions at various venues and features topics such as the future of religion, racial equality, dialogue and listening, spiritual growth and faith development, meditation and yoga practice and community service.

The event is being sponsored by the St. Petersburg Interfaith Association, Suncoast Community Institute of Noetic Sciences and the Bridge. For information, go to
