A 90-foot balloon blue whale makes itself at home Monday at North Straub Park in St. Petersburg. The Great Whale Conservancy, a group dedicated to moving shipping lanes to reduce ship strikes to whales, inflated the balloon to promote the upcoming Blue Ocean Film Festival, which runs through Sunday with films and events at the Mahaffey Theater, Sundial 20, USF St. Petersburg Student Center Ballroom and Vinoy Grand Ballroom.
