CLEARWATER — The city will give away 1,850 trees Saturday in honor of Arbor Day at the Public Service Complex at 1650 N Arcturas Ave. from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Those with proof of Clearwater residency can choose up to two trees from among crape myrtles, red maples, red cedar, live oaks, southern magnolia and other types.

Free to residents, the city pays for the trees through the Tree Bank Fund, supported by fines collected from tree protection ordinance violations.
