Report: Pasco woman runs afowl of law over cold nuggets

HUDSON — There's nothing worse than cold chicken nuggets.

Except maybe sitting in a cold jail cell.

According to her arrest report, Amanda Lauren Nunziata, 20, of Hudson learned that lesson the hard way Friday night after she threw a fit over cold nuggets at a Twistee Treat on Laredo Road.

She purchased 10 chicken nuggets and ate seven. She then complained that the remaining three were cold and asked for new ones. The Twistee Treat staff obliged and cooked up three fresh nuggets for Nunziata, the report said.

But that's not what Nunziata had in mind.

She wanted either 10 new nuggets or a refund, a request the woman behind the counter could not fulfill because of limitations in Twistee Treat's return policy, the report said.

Nunziata cried "fowl" and threw the tray — along with the remaining nuggets and dipping sauce — at the Twistee Treat worker, hitting her in the face and leaving the clerk with honey mustard on her cheek and shirt.

Deputies arrested Nunziata on a battery charge and on warrant charges of reckless driving and eluding a law enforcement officer who had lights and sirens activated.

She was released from the Pasco County jail after posting $11,000 bail.
