ABC CELEBRATES 14 YEARS: ABC Medical Equipment and Scrubs celebrated its 14th year in business in Pasco County on Aug. 23. The company was founded in 2005 by registered nurse Carol Acevedo and her family. They specialize in medical and respiratory equipment, scooters, medical supplies, scrubs, shoes and CBD products. PLASTIC BAG INITIATIVE: Wright’s Natural Market has launched an initiative to help customers remember to bring their reusable shopping totes and reduce the use of plastic bags in downtown New Port Richey. For every reusable shopping bag customers use, Wright’s will donate 5 cents to a community charity. Donations raised from July through September will be given to Veterans Alternative. GOLF CLASSIC: The “SurgeryPlus Classic benefiting the Good Samaritan Health Clinic of Pasco” will be Sept. 14 at Innisbrook Golf Resort on the Copperhead Golf Course in Palm Harbor, which is home of the PGA Tour Valspar Championship. The cost is $1,000 per team, which includes breakfast, range balls, golf for four players, lunch, prizes and beer provided by Escape Brewery, a local craft brewery. Sponsors include SurgeryPlus, Escape Brewing and Florida Joint Care Institute, a Trinity-based orthopedic practice. AWARDS AND TRADE SHOW: The Pasco Economic Development Council hosts its 33rd-annual Awards and Trade Show Sept. 5 at Saddlebrook Resort’s Grand Pavilion, 5700 Saddlebrook Way, Wesley Chapel. A reception and registration will be from 5 to 6 p.m., the awards celebration will be from 6 to 7 p.m., and the trade show and networking dinner will be from 7 to 9 p.m. The dress is business attire.
