NEW PORT RICHEY — The 16-year-old Fivay High School student who was hit by a truck Tuesday morning is in serious condition but is stable, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Michael Taiwo, of Port Richey was hit at about 7 a.m. on Little Road, just south of Rye Street, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A teenage pedestrian was transported to a hospital after being hit by a truck Tuesday in Pasco County, according to Pasco County Fire Rescue.

The boy was wearing dark clothing before sunrise when he ran eastbound across the northbound lanes of Little Road. He was hit by J. Lino Saldivar Nieto, 57, of Port Richey, who was driving a 2006 Ford F-150 truck.

He was listed as a trauma alert and taken to Bayonet Point Medical Center after the crash.
