Man shot in New Port Richey road rage incident, police suspect

A man was shot Sunday morning in what police believe to be a road rage incident in New Port Richey. He’s expected to survive.

According to a news release from the New Port Richey Police Department, the man was shot around 9:15 a.m. near the intersection of U.S. 19 and Cross Bayou Boulevard.

The release did not name the suspect in the shooting or the victim. Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Detective J. Ioppolo at 727-232-8905.

The victim was taken to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries, the release said.
