Authorities seeking driver after fatal hit and run in Zephyrhills

ZEPHYRHILLS — Authorities are seeking the public’s help in finding a hit and run driver whose car struck and killed a pedestrian early Saturday.

Alonzo Norton, 46, of Zephyrhills, was hit by a car traveling east on Sixth Avenue east of Armstrong Street at about 3:30 a.m., a Florida Highway Patrol report states.

The driver did not stop, the report states. Norton was declared dead at the scene.

Debris from the car’s fender recovered at the accident scene indicates that the vehicle involved is a Honda Pilot built between 2003 and 2005. The report does not indicate the color of the vehicle.
