WELLNESS CENTER BREAKS GROUND: Saint Leo University broke ground Feb. 6 for a wellness center that on the west end of campus, by Lake Jovita, at 33701 State Road 52, St. Leo. The 59,000-square-foot facility will create an environment for holistic health and well-being that integrates student recreation, fitness, health services, counseling services and campus ministry. It will provide space for group exercise, yoga and spinning classes, and a large community fitness center, two indoor basketball courts, a smoothie bar and a recreational pool with a lakeside infinity edge. There also will be a relaxation/meditation garden. The architect is S3 Design of Braintree, Mass. The construction firm is Creative Contractors of Clearwater. Construction will begin in April and is projected to be completed by fall 2021.

JOB FAIR: Metro Development Group will host its fourth Metro Job Fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 25 at Pasco-Hernando State College Porter Campus at Wiregrass Ranch, 2727 Mansfield Blvd., Wesley Chapel. Together with PHSC, CareerSource Pasco Hernando, and the North Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce, Metro will host between 30 and 50 employers, each with a minimum of four open positions. HEART HEALTH TALK: A heart health discussion with Ghazanfar Khadim, MD, a board-certified cardiologist, will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 27 at AdventHealth Dade City, Classroom 108, 13100 Fort King Road, Dade City. Blood pressure screenings will be provided from 11:30 a.m. to noon, with the program beginning at noon. Dr. Khadim will discuss the four numbers you should know to assess your heart health.
