Two teenagers are dead and two other people hospitalized following a crash that involved a Tampa Bay Times delivery truck early Saturday morning in Hillsborough County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Petar Lakic, 61, of St. Petersburg was traveling west on U.S. 92, west of Turkey Creek Road, in a 2005 Peterbilt truck around 12:38 a.m.

Camilo E. Mustacchio, 17, of Dover was driving a 2008 Ford Escape in the opposite direction when the sport utility vehicle crossed the center line and hit the truck head-on, troopers said.

Mustacchio and a passenger in the SUV, Lexi R. Lapointe, 15, of Seffner died at the scene. Another passenger, Edgar A. Ortiz, 14, of Plant City was airlifted to Tampa General Hospital in critical condition.

None of the teens were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, according to the incident report.

Lakic, an employee of the Times, was taken to Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center in serious condition. He was wearing a seatbelt, the report states.
