A Clearwater man arrested Wednesday faces a second-degree murder charge in Pasco County, according to public records, but officials there haven’t provided details of the alleged crime.
John Crittenden Green, 43, was booked into the Pinellas County jail Wednesday night after Clearwater police arrested him on a warrant from Pasco County, according to jail records.
Though the murder charge originated in Pasco County, and though the alleged crime was investigated by the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, the agency’s spokeswoman Amanda Hunter said she’s unable to release records with more details of the case until Green is transferred into the Sheriff’s Office’s custody. She said she did not know when that transfer would happen. As of early Friday afternoon, records showed that Green was still in the Pinellas County jail, where he was being held on $750,000 bond.
Green has a lengthy arrest record that dates to 1995 and includes charges in Pinellas, Pasco, Hillsborough and Orange counties, public records show. His record includes DUIs, moving violations, marijuana and synthetic cannabinoid possession and driving with a revoked or suspended license.
