A 14-year-old bicyclist was killed in a crash in Pasco County Tuesday morning, Florida Highway Patrol troopers are reporting.

Jayden Relyea of New Port Richey was pedaling a bicycle east on Slidell Road about 7:25 a.m. when the crash occurred. The teen went through the intersection with Moon Lake Road and was hit by a northbound Jeep Wrangler driven by Ann M. Feeney, 61, of New Port Richey, troopers said.

The teen was taken to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point and pronounced dead.

Relyea was on his way to school when the Jeep hit him, according to a statement from River Ridge High School.

“At this time we are focused on providing support to the student’s family and to all the students and staff at our school who are grieving," the school said in the statement. "The crisis team will be on campus today to support anyone who needs a counselor in the front office conference room.”

No charges have been filed, troopers said.
