A motorcyclist from St. Petersburg was killed in Pasco County Monday morning after the driver of a truck tractor turned left in front of him and the two vehicles collided, Florida Highway Patrol troopers said.

The crash occurred about 9 a.m. as a 22-year-old Tampa man was driving the truck west on County Line Road approaching Teebs Boulevard. Meanwhile, a 24-year-old man from St. Petersburg was driving a motorcycle east on County Line Road.

The truck driver turned left onto southbound Teebs Boulevard and into the path of the motorcyclist. The motorcycle hit the truck and the rider was ejected. He died at the scene, troopers said.

Troopers did not release the names of the people involved because of their interpretation of Marsy’s Law, a constitutional amendment meant to protect crime victims, but that deprives the public of information that had long been available under the state’s public records laws.
