A Spring Hill man died after a single-car crash in Pasco County Thursday night, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.

Troopers said the 52-year-old man was driving east on County Line Road approaching Rolling Oak Drive at about 10:20 p.m. Thursday when he lost control and went off the road. The car hit a fence and overturned in a ditch, troopers said.

The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the car and suffered critical injuries. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, troopers said.

Troopers did not release the victim’s name due to the agency’s interpretation of Marsy’s Law, a voter-approved amendment to Florida’s constitution that’s meant to protect crime victims but deprives the public of information that had long been available under the state’s public records laws.
