LAND O’ LAKES — A driver crashed her car through someone else’s garage Wednesday morning, authorities say.
The 46-year-old Lutz woman was driving north through the 3100 block of Banyan Hill Lane about 9:35 a.m. when she suffered a medical emergency, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
As she lost control of the car, she collided with a mailbox at one home, the landscaping at another and then plowed through the side of the garage of a third home, where she finally came to a stop, troopers say.
The woman suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital, said Pasco County Fire Rescue spokesman Corey Dierdorff. She was wearing a seatbelt.
He said the homeowner was home at the time of the crash but was not injured. Firefighters sealed up the home.
The crash caused thousands in damage to the home, according to the Highway Patrol. No other information about the incident was released.
The Highway Patrol did not release the names of anyone involved in the crash due to its interpretation of Marsy’s Law, an amendment to Florida’s Constitution that was meant to protect crime victims but deprives the public of information that had long been available under the state’s public records laws.
