HUDSON — A 62-year-old Hudson woman and her passenger were killed Tuesday morning after she turned in front of a sport-utility vehicle on State Road 52, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troopers say the woman was driving east on the highway when she turned into the path of the westbound SUV at Cobblestone Drive. The SUV hit the car, sending the SUV into the rear of another SUV. The car spun to a stop on the north shoulder of S.R. 52.

The woman and her passenger, a 54-year-old Port Richey man, died at the scene. They were wearing seatbelts.

The driver of the SUV that collided with the car, a 59-year-old man, and his passenger, a 79-year-old woman, received minor injuries in the crash. They are from New Port Richey.

A 48-year-old Hudson man driving the second SUV also received minor injuries.

The Highway Patrol did not identify any of the people involved in the crash.
