ZEPHYRHILLS — A 45-year-old Zephyrhills man was killed Thursday night after he struck an armadillo on Eiland Boulevard and lost control of his motorcycle, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened around 10:20 p.m. as the motorcycle was approaching Handcart Boulevard in Pasco County, troopers said. The man lost control of his motorcycle after an impact with the armadillo caused the motorcycle to overturn, ejecting him.
Troopers say the man was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He died at the scene.
