TAMPA — A Tampa man accidentally discharged his gun in a hospital early Thursday, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

Lynn Boatman, 67, arrived in Town & Country Hospital's emergency room about 1:20 a.m. Thursday for a medical issue. After being placed in bed, he took a Glock 36 .45-caliber handgun from his pocket, removed the magazine and tried to clear the chamber, the Sheriff's Office said.

While doing so he accidentally pulled the trigger, deputies said, and a round was shot through a chair and into the tile floor. There were no injuries.

Boatman has a valid Florida concealed weapons license and no charges will be filed, according to the Sheriff's Office.
