SEMINOLE — A Seminole woman was killed and her passenger seriously injured early Monday when she lost control of her vehicle and hit a wall, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Shawn Michelle Bodden, 37, died in the 12:15 a.m. crash along 102nd Avenue North at 97th Street North. Rene Joseph Bergeron, 39, Seminole, was injured.

Bodden was headed west on 102nd Avenue North in a 2006 Chevrolet HHR when she entered the intersection at 97th Street North and, for unknown reasons, lost control, the Highway Patrol said.

The vehicle began to rotate, veered north and collided with a concrete barrier wall and guardrail.
