The Pinellas County Commission is accepting applications for members to serve on the Parks and Conservation Resources Advisory Board.
The county is seeking applicants with professional experience in environmental science or policy matters. These are volunteer positions, and members receive no compensation, the county said. The term of office is one year, and it runs from Aug. 1, or date of appointment, through July 31, 2021.
The advisory board advises the County Commission, the county administrator and the Parks and Conservation Resources Department. Duties include: reviewing park plans, designs, operations and procedures; participating in public education and ceremonial activities; and formulating proposals for park improvements, according to the county.
The board meets at least quarterly unless there is no business to conduct that quarter. Applications are due by 3 p.m. on June 11. The application can be found at www.pinellascounty.org/boards.
