A 60-year-old man was killed after he lost control of a pickup truck on Interstate 275 Wednesday afternoon and hit a tree, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

The crash occurred about 12:45 p.m. Wednesday as the man was driving north approaching 22nd Avenue S, troopers reported. The man lost control of the truck, which went into the median and hit the tree, troopers said.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he died, troopers reported.

The highway patrol didn’t release the man’s name because of its interpretation of Marsy’s Law, a voter-approved amendment to the state Constitution that was meant to protect crime victims but that deprives the public of information long available under Florida’s public records law.
