A motorcyclist was critically injured Monday evening in a crash in the 17000 block of U.S. 19 in Largo, police reported.
The crash occurred about 6:30 p.m. and resulted in that part of U.S. 19 being shut down for more than three hours.
Largo police said “a reckless motorcycle” was “traveling at a high rate of speed” when the rider lost control and crashed into a southbound Audi sport-utility vehicle. The motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to the hospital in critical condition, police said.
No other details were immediately released.
