PINELLAS PARK — A woman was killed and a man critically injured Wednesday after their motorcycle collided with a car near 62nd Avenue N and 55th Street, Pinellas Park police say.

The red Camaro also struck Our Lady of Good Hope church but nobody was inside, police said. The driver fled the scene of the 2:45 a.m. crash and hasn’t been located.

The victims have not been identified. They were taken to a hospital where the woman later died and the man was in critical condition as of 7 a.m. Thursday.

A portion of 62nd Avenue remained closed Thursday morning between 53rd and 58th streets. Drivers in the area should seek an alternate route.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Pinellas Park police at (727)-369-7864.
