A man died after a residential fire in unincorporated Pinellas County on Sunday, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
At about 10:30 p.m. Sunday, deputies responded to a report of smoke coming from a residence in the 10400 block of 116th Avenue North. Crews from the Largo and Seminole fire departments forced entry to the home, where they found 59-year-old Thomas James Shook on the floor, the sheriff’s office reported in a media release.
Shook was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Sheriff’s officials are investigating the fire but said it does not appear suspicious.
The Pinellas-Pasco Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine Shook’s cause of death.
