ST. PETERSBURG — A bullet fired into the air on the Fourth of July grazed a 2-month-old baby in his mother's arms, police said.

The boy was taken to the hospital, where he was quickly treated and released. Officials cited the shooting as yet another example of the dangers of celebratory gunfire.

The baby and his mother were outside in a gazebo in the 300 block of Kingfish Drive SE when the bullet hit him about 9:45 p.m., according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.
