20-year-old man shot by Clearwater police officer

A Clearwater police officer shot a 20-year-old man Saturday evening while investigating a call about a disturbance, the agency said.

The shooting occurred at about 7:15 p.m. at 1008 LaSalle Steet, near the residential street's intersection with North Martin Luther King Jr., police said.

Police have yet to release the identity of the man, who was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, or the officer who shot him.

According to police, no officers were injured during the incident. A firearm was recovered from the scene, and an investigation is ongoing.
