TAMPA — A 43-year-old man died Friday night after a car ran into his motorcycle while attempting to exit Interstate 275 N, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Troopers said Joshua Omar Santiago was on his motorcycle exiting toward State Route 580 when Elisha M. Cruz, 27, drove her Toyota Camry into the lane. While merging, the Camry's side mirror struck Santiago's Honda. The impact caused him to veer to the outside shoulder and collide with the guardrail. The Tampa man died at the scene from his injuries.
Cruz stopped her car after the accident. The Tampa woman did not sustain any injuries.
