TAMPA — If your Cinco De Mayo is spelled Cinco De-UI, expect law enforcement to take notice this weekend.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office on Friday disclosed plans for a DUI "enforcement saturation" effort Saturday night and early Sunday as people celebrate the holiday in the usual manner throughout Hillsborough County.
Deputies will team up with Tampa police and the Florida Highway Patrol in an effort to promote safety and reduce crashes, spokesman Danny Alvarez said in a news release.
The Sheriff's Office plans to set up its portable breath testing station, dubbed the BAT Mobile, at 2109 11th Ave. in Ybor City.
At least 27 officers from the three agencies will patrol into the night, Alvarez said.
