As news of a shooting at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland spread Wednesday, one Twitter user identifying himself as a freshman student posted live updates from inside.

The first post from Twitter user @TheCaptainAidan came at 2:59 p.m. when he wrote, "I am in a school shooting right now..."

I am in a school shooting right now...

Two minutes later, he posted photos from inside what looks to be a classroom, then another 10 minutes later. "Long live Majory Stoneman Douglas High," he wrote.

My school is being shot up and I am locked inside. I'm fucking scared right now. pic.twitter.com/mjiEmPvGNb

Still locked in. I checked the local news and there is 20 victims. Long live Majory Stoneman Douglas High. pic.twitter.com/4kQMAlCBWt

Responses rolled in, including one from a user who said she had survived a shooting before.

"I've survived this," user @runs_w_woIves wrote. "You're gonna be okay. Hang in there sweetie. Stay quiet. Help anyone who is hurt. Stay calm. It's going to be okay. I promise baby you're going to be okay."

"It's so depressing that this has become an 'I've been there' type of situation," another user replied.

Hello, Twitter. I am closing my DM's but I appreciate everyone contacting me. I am still locked in the school, but remember I'm only a freshman. Please don't just send your love to me, but pray for the victims' families too. Love you all.

By 4:25 p.m., the student posted that he had made it outside. "God bless, America," he wrote.
