Watch: Man on phone speeds down I-95 while on the hood of a car

Barreling down I-95 at 70 mph can be dangerous, and even moreso if you're clinging to the hood of a car in flip-flops.

That's the subject of a video shot by Daniel Midah, an engineering student, who captured the bizarre sight Sunday night.

In the car next to Midah a man clung to the hood of a black Mercedes Benz on the southbound I-95 Express Lanes, according to CBS Miami. The man who was chatting on the phone was wearing a white tank top, black shorts and an orange pair of flip-flops.

Midah predicted the man was talking to the woman driving the car.

"It was scary and also like it was crazy and funny, I was mind blown," Midah told CBS Miami. "I have never seen anything like that."

Midah said he then called 911 and provided a description of the vehicle and the tag number.

"They were putting their lives in danger, but also those of the people around them. If he had fallen off, he would have hit me. You know, that's on me," Midah told the station.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
