DOVER — The Florida Highway Patrol has confiscated a Ford F-250 pickup truck believed to have struck a 13-year-old Dover boy, killing him, as he walked on the shoulder of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard early Sunday.

The vehicle's owner told troopers where to find it, the Highway Patrol said. It was located at a home along Old Dixie Highway in Auburndale.

Still unreported? The identity of the driver.

Troopers are continuing to investigate the crash that killed Jesus Navarro, who was at a friend's house Sunday when he decided to go home because he didn't feel well. As he was walking around 12:33 a.m. along the shoulder of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard near Mott Road, a Ford F-250 pickup truck driving the wrong way struck and killed him, the Highway Patrol said.

The driver fled in the truck.

The victim, son of Jesus Navarro-Ramirez of Dover, was a student at Turkey Creek Middle School. A crisis team was available at the school Monday, the Hillsborough County School District said.
