Four-vehicle crash leaves one dead, shuts down Bruce B. Downs and Bearss

TAMPA — At least four vehicles were involved in a chain-reaction crash Wednesday that left one person dead and blocked the intersection of Bruce B. Downs Boulevard and E Bearss Avenue, according to police.

The incident took place at about 5:27 p.m. in front of 15501 Bruce B. Downs Blvd. Multiple people were sent to local hospitals for treatment of serious injuries, according to Tampa police.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bruce B. Downs and Bearss will be closed for several hours while police investigate the crash scene. No other details about the incident were released, and none of those involved in the crash were identified.
