TAMPA — Police on Monday released the name of a motorcyclist killed in a hit-and-run crash on the Courtney Campbell Causeway early Saturday.

Yasiel Ramirez Guitierrez, 25, was riding west on the causeway at a high rate of speed about 1:35 a.m. when he collided with the back of a pickup truck that had just made a U-turn at the traffic signal at Ben T. Davis Beach, Tampa police said.

Guitierrez was thrown from the motorcycle and landed in the roadway, where he was struck by two other vehicles, police said. The driver of one of the vehicles stopped, the other driver kept driving west, according to police.

Guitierrez died at the scene. Police released his name after notifying his next of kin.
